POLICIES

Everyone's time is valuable!

Bookings and Cancellations

To all new client bookings. Bookings are only made by phone (860) 370-5721.

Up to date rabies vaccination paperwork is mandatory for all appointments. You will be asked what breed and weight when making you're dog's first appointment.

PLEASE NOTE:  Luxury Paws is no longer accepting large breeds past 85 pounds. Extremely large dogs put a lot of wear and tear on grooming equipment and our bodies.

If  a cancellation is necessary I ask that you please inform Luxury Paws at least 24 hours prior to you're scheduled appointment time. If you cancel same day a rebooking fee of $30.00 will be charged.

Late or
No Call / No Shows

Clients are asked to not show up no more than 10 minutes before their dog's scheduled time. We work with limited space so therefore we have to make sure things are running smoothly.

Clients have a 15 minute tardy period. After 15 minutes. The groom will have to be rescheduled. If a client makes a habit. of continuously being tardy for their appointments they will unfortunately no longer be scheduled.

If a client no call no shows there will be a rebooking charge of $30.00 before coming to the rebooked appointment. If a client no call no shows again they will no longer be allowed to rebook again.

We ask clients to WAIT till we contact you for pick up. Please do not rush the groomer. Sometimes grooming can run a little behind due to the behavior or coat condition of dogs. Dogs are beautiful wiggly, living, breathing fur babies and sometimes can't cooperate during grooming. We are working with sharp tools and want to be extra careful no accidents happen. The safety of you're dog comes first. If you show up and we did not contact you and you disturb the groom you are picking up you're dog as is.

Also we do not allow clients to stay for grooming. it is a big distraction to you're dog.

Refusal of service / Aggressive dog behavior

Luxury Paws does not accept any dogs that are infested with fleas due to the risk of spreading fleas throughout the shop or to other dogs. We will provide you with information by phone on what steps to take when you're dog is infested with fleas.

If a dog is very elderly and may not be in the best mental and physical shape for grooming the groom can be refused.

Luxury Paws also has the right to refuse or stop a groom due to unruly and or aggressive behavior.

Dogs that show aggression risk injury to themselves, other dogs and the grooming staff as well. This behavior will not be tolerated! Luxury Paws ultimate priority is safety for all dogs and staff.

Matting Shavedowns or custom cuts

Allowing a pets coat to get matted is not only very uncomfortable but also dangerous. It cuts the blood supply and oxygen in the dog"s skin. Matting can cause hematomas especially in the ears where blood can pull and burst out when the mat is finally removed. Matting causes skin irritation, bruising and are great places for fleas to hide and nest. So therefore if there is any severe matting you're dog will need to be shaved. severely matted hair can not be brushed and we will not put you're dog through that pain and discomfort. Also there will be added charges due to matting. Matting can be avoided with regular brushing, combing and regular booked grooming appointments. The groomer will be happy to show you some brushing techniques for mat prevention.

Custom cuts that are outside normal specific breed haircuts will be discussed and the groomer will perform the cuts to the best of their understanding of client's directions and their ability but no other guarantee is made.
